This wooden chest with a row of vaulted lids is painted with funerary deities, including the jackal god Anubis, and inscriptions for its owner. Divided chests like this held shabti figurines or other burial equipment and were placed in the tomb near the coffin.
The vaulted lids echo the shape of Egyptian shrines, turning the box itself into a small sacred structure.
