Stela of Salset called Penkhu

Museo Egizio, Turin

This painted stela belonged to a person named Salset, also called Penkhu. Egyptians often had a second name or nickname, and inscriptions record both so that the deceased could be correctly identified and receive offerings.

The scenes show the deceased with offerings, and the inscription calls on the gods to grant bread, beer and all good things for the owner's ka.
