This book contains the Gospels of Mark, Luke, and John (the ending of the latter is missing), two miniature paintings, one of Luke and another of John, and two frontispieces. The Evangelists are portrayed standing in a full frontal posture, holding the Gospel and blessing. Luke is depicted standing
under an arch, while John is depicted in the center of a basilica type church, with galleries under the ceilings from which twelve oil lamps are suspended. The figures are rendered with great plasticity, and remind us of Constantinopolitan works of art, however the brushstroke style and overall technique is evidently related to works from Syria and Palestine. This is considered to be one of the oldest translations of the Gospels into Arabic.
