This icon belongs to the so-called “Crusader” icons that combine both Byzantine and Western artistic elements. One side portrays the Crucifixion, and the other the Ressurrection.
The main iconographic elements are clearly derived from Byzantine tradition; Christ stands upon the Gates of Hades, and raises Adam and Eve from their tombs. Nevertheless, there are also clearly Western elements, such as the rose colored halo and heavenly body, the stars, Christ’s carved stone cross, and the elderly Eve. Such colors and realism are nowhere to be found in Byzantine painting. The icon is attributed to a Venetian workshop.
