The Golden Leeuw (or the Golden Lion) is the large ship of the line in the center left with her stern faced toward the viewer. The Golden Lion was a Dutch, 80-cannon ship that served Admiral Cornelis Tromp during the Second English-Dutch War. Built in 1666, the ship was a symbol of Dutch naval strength. She played a role in several major Dutch-victorious sea battles such as the Second Sea Battle of Schooneveld and the Battle of Texel.
