Plate F of a plan of the flying proa from Baron George Anson's 'A Voyage round the World' first published in 1748. Depicts a head view, view from leeward with sail set, and a half-draught plan. The proa is constructed so that the head and stern are alike, but the two sides are different. The lee side is flat and the windward side is rounded. To prevent oversetting, braces from the ends project from her windward side and fastened to a log to steady the frame.
