Uncolored engraving depicting a side view of a single-masted yacht with a furled loose-footed sail, flying pennants which resemble the Dutch flag. A city is visible on the horizon line at left, and another boat on the horizon at right. In the lower margin is printed "Heere Iacht" (aristocratic yacht) and "Yacht", below which is the artist attribution, "D.S. Fecit."
A pencilled inscription gives the date as 1750 and specifies that this is a "bezaan zey[l?]". "Bezaan zeil" is the Dutch phrase for the sail on the aft-most mast of a ship (the "bezaansmast" in Dutch).
Watermark partially visible on right edge (cut off).
