Hand-colored map depicting "Guyana, or the Amazon Region" from the Atlantis Appendix (1630) by Willem Jansz Blaeu. The legendary Manoa or El Dorado is one of only two inland cities depicted. It is shown at the edge of the also fabled Lake Parime, an enormous rectangular lake in the middle of the region shown. Catrouches display the title of the map, mile measurements, and publication location. Text in Latin on verso; chapter is on the "Guiana sive regio amazonum" (fol. 16r).
