A ship portrait of the 'Wanderer' seen from the starboard broadside. The 'Wanderer,' owned by the whaling entrepreneur Benjamin Boyd, was a lavishly fitted out yacht that frequently sailed on Sydney Harbor and Twofold Bay in the 1840s. Boyd established settlements and pastoral stations between Eden and Sydney. The yacht's expensive interiors and opulence made it a popular attraction with fashionable society in Sydney.
