A seascape with a seventeenth-century, Dutch man-of-war and yacht engraved after an original painting by Willem van de Velde I. The yacht is in the right foreground, and on board, two men appear to be in a brawl. A small boat filled with men head toward the man-of-war in the left distance. A standing man at the head of the boat blows a trumpet to announce their arrival. Four smaller sailing vessels surround the large ship.
The paper has a distinct watermark of a fleur-de-lis enclosed in an escutcheon with a crown directly above it. The text, "E & P," in bold gothic script is underneath the escutcheon.
