The "Tomb of Agamemnon", also called the Treasury of Atreus, is the grandest of the tholos tombs at Mycenae: a huge beehive-shaped chamber built around 1250 BCE, roofed by a corbelled dome that remained the largest in the world for over a thousand years. The names linking it to Agamemnon and Atreus come from later legend.
The tomb was robbed in antiquity, and this display at the Mycenae museum presents objects associated with it and its surroundings.
