The Book of Imy-Duat (Amduat), "What Is in the Underworld", charts the twelve hours of the night through which the sun god travels in his barque before rising again in the east. Once reserved for the tombs of kings, it was copied onto papyrus for members of the Theban priesthood after the New Kingdom.
This papyrus was made for Djedkhonsu-iuefankh, whose name, "Khonsu says he will live", invokes Khonsu, the moon god of Thebes. The registers show the sun barque and the gods and demons of each hour of the night.
