When the deacon is censing the church, he usually holds an empty casket covered with a piece of fabric in his left hand, in remembrance of the incense chest. This casket is the gift of Bishop Georgios of Radauți in Moldavia, according to a Greek inscription along its sides. This casket must have originally been paired with censer number 30.6. The two items are of the same origin, were donated in the same year, and possess the same late-Gothic architectural features, which in the case of the casket are further embellished with floral ornamentation and rows of palmettes.
