Zhejiang University Museum of Art and Archaeology

Zhejiang University Museum of Art and Archaeology (ZJUMAA) opened in 2019. Its mission is to support and enhance education and research at ZJU.

Occupying an area of 8.23 acres with a floor area of 250,000 square meters, the complex is divided into two zones: the museum facilities and the academic institute. Its educational activities include exhibitions, publications, lectures, conferences, film screenings and live performances.

Through collection, research, and exhibition of artwork and archaeological artifacts, the Museum seeks to elevate the aesthetic sensitivity, visual literacy and critical thinking of the ZJU community.

Its collection, exhibition and education projects are shared with the public; through the development of specific projects, the public is encouraged to participate in its activity; through exhibitions, seminars and academic publishing, its resources are shared with the local, Chinese and world public, contributing to the establishment mission of Zhejiang University to "enhance knowledge and promote knowledge".The library's duty is to serve the teaching of Zhejiang University. Therefore, the collection of representative samples of human beings' different civilizations and different times' art is the first priority, and the only criterion is not the artistic quality of the works.
