A copperplate engraving from the book titled, 'Plan de plusieurs b̢timens de mer avec leurs proportions dedi̩ Son Altesse Serenissime Monseigneur Louis Auguste de Bourbon' (Marseille: c. 1720) by the French Captain Henri Sbonski de Passebon. The folio-sized book was a collection of 17 naval architecture prints. Translated, the title literally means, "First-rate ship with admiral flag." The French, premier-rang ship is depicted with her port-broadside visible. The bow and stern are ornately decorated with floral, and maritime motifs. Sailors on deck are busy in various activities as men attempt to furl in the sails on mast yards. At the stern, the ship flies a large flag emblazoned with the royal coat of arms of France against a background dotted with fleur-de-lis.
