TO THE RIGHT HONOURABLE JOHN EARL ST VINCENT K.B. &C &C THIS PLATE, representing the Launching of his Majesty's Ship HIBERNIA of 120 Guns, CIRCE & PALLAS Frigates of 32 Guns each, & the Undocking the ST GEORGE of 98 guns
On the right side of the print, the 'Hibernia' with flagpoles instead of masts, enters the water stern first in Plymouth Dockyard. Other named vessels are in the background, and there is a cheering crowd in small crafts in the foreground. The frigates 'Circe' and the 'Pallas,' which were also launched on the 17th of November 1804, also have large flags instead of masts. The 'St. George,' named in the print was undergoing a refitting and repair in 1804 at Plymouth Dockyard. The bottom margin is lettered with the title incorporated in dedication, ship names and production detail.
