Side view ship portrait of a two-masted steam yacht with a single smokestack. She flies the post-1844 Turkish flag. Production information printed below the image, in English. Title printed in lower margin, in Arabic.
Object title from a pencil inscription in Clark's hand on verso.
Identity of the vessel is uncertain (as is the translation from the Arabic). The date checks out for the vessel to be the "Taliah", made in 1863/4 for the Sultan of Turkey by a British firm, but a contemporary print of the "Taliah" shows her to have two smokestacks and a large paddle wheel not in evidence here.
