A photo-processed print after a painting by John E. C. Peterson mounted onto a board. The print depicts the start of the Transatlantic Ocean Race of December 11, 1866 between the schooners 'Henrietta,' 'Fleetwing,' and 'Vesta' for a prize of $90,000. The course was from Sandy Hook, NJ to Cowes, Isle of Wight. The 'Henrietta' won with a time of 13 days and 22 hours. The 'Fleetwing' arrived 8 hours later, followed by 'Vesta' 1.5 hours later.
