Black and white engraving depicting a fish-shaped submarine in the sea. Many large fish swim around it, including a narwhal and some flying fish. A very large fish, perhaps intended to represent a whale, is lit up in the headlights of the submarine. On the seafloor is a shipwreck and a group of five mermaids and mermen, with horrified faces and arms raised, or diving for cover, at the sight of the submarine. A sign to the right of the group reads, "Dealer in MARINE STORES" Under the image is given the artist name, "George Cruikshank", and the title, "Science under Divers forms."
