A scene depicting the arrival of Queen Victoria to the Port of Falmouth on the maiden voyage of the HMY 'Victoria and Albert.' She departed Southamption with Queen Victoria and Prince Albert 28 August 1843 and sailed to Ryde on the Isle of Wight. From Ryde, they visited Weymouth, Dartmouth, Plymouth, and then Falmouth. At Falmouth, the Mayor and Corporation greeted the royal couple.
Viewed from the shore, crowds gathered in vessels and boats to catch a glimpse of the Queen and welcome her. In the right foreground, ladies in bonnets, a child, and men in top hats stand at the shore's edge. At the far distance, the opposite shoreline of the port is visible.
