Plate 5 from a set of lithographs on the Baltic and Crimean wars, l'affaire d'orient, in 1854. Under the command of Captain Tatham, the 'Fury' successfully boarded a Russian merchant vessel and took her crew as prisoners. Two brigs-of-war, two frigates, a steam frigate immediately started to chase her. The print depicts the HMS sloop 'Fury' of 6 guns (left) towing her Russian prize (right) while being engaged in combat with the five pursuing Russian vessels. In an attempt to escape unharmed, the British sloop open-fired and eventually dropped her prize. However, she escaped with her prisoners. The title of the series is at the top in French.
