A print of the departure of Prince William of Orange and Princess Mary (later, Mary II), daughter of King James II, Duke of York, from Holland to England to become King and Queen of England. Mary became Queen after her husband invaded England and her father fled the country December 1688. Two months later, on February 20, 1689, the now King William III and Queen Mary II left Holland to be crowned joint sovereigns of England. Both Protestants, Mary's joint reign with her husband is considered a key victory and celebration of the Protestant faith.
