A port side view of the schooner yacht "Coquette" with two vessels in the distance. Named after the clipper barque "Coquette" which James H. Perkins rode when when the barque was making voyages from Calcutta to China. The schooner yacht "Coquette" beat the sloop Maria, owned by Commodore Stevens, in Sandy Hook in 1846, which was then considered the fastest yacht in America.
